50 Cent: "SMS Get The Message"

On the artwork for his latest freestyle, 50 Cent claims that he's 10 out of 10 when it comes to the tracks he has leaked over the past few months. I might not necessarily agree with him completely, but it's certainly great to hear that he still has that hunger so many of us fell for in the early 2000s. It's also refreshing when you consider the fact he was toying with the idea of releasing a rock and techno-influenced album.

He, thankfully, shelved that record, Black Magic, and instead reconnected with his trademark aggression. And it's his aggressive side that has made (almost) all of these "freestyles" so enjoyable. "SMS Get the Message" might just be his best yet as it actually sounds finished and is lyrically menacing. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we need a CD quality version of this track and the others he's tossed online, if only because it's so nice out right now in New England and this is definitely driving music.
