“5 Fingers Of Death” (Freestyle)

Childish Gambino, aka actor/comedian Donald Glover, made one of his most, erm, pure hip-hop promo stops earlier today when he dropped by the Shade 45 studios. He appeared on Sway in the Morning to take part in the show’s “5 Fingers of Death” freestyle series. The basis of the segment is that a rapper must spit over five different instrumentals that pretty much change-up without warning.

As you can imagine, the results can be less than noteworthy sometimes as it’s easy to get distracted by, say, grunge guitars when you’re trying to rattle off rhymes. But Gambino holds his own here dropping lines about Kanye West, friend/fellow comedian Aubrey Plaza, and being denied entry into the KKK. You can stream the freestyle segment below. Gambino’s debut, Camp, drops Nov. 15. [Rap Radar]
