Madonna names new album after candy

Madonna’s forthcoming record, set to be released in April, will be called Licorice. Ever the chameleon, Madge is going for a hip-hop vibe this time, and Licorice will feature collaborations with Kayne West and Pharrell. Two songs, “Candy Shop” and “The Beat Goes On” (why do those titles sound familiar?), were already leaked earlier this year. Licorice will be Madonna’s eleventh album and her last for Warner Brothers. If 1989’s Like a Prayer smelled like patchouli, will this be scented with the anise flavored confection for which it is named? [NME]
