Worst movie watching experience I've ever had was watching all of Kazaam, start to finish, on Telemundo. Did I mention I don't speak Spanish?
I was always partial to The Air Up There and "Four Points," the Nickelodeon after-school special about a short guy with Shaq as narrator and Kenan Thompson in a supporting role.
Objectively, however, I'd have to say the best basketball movie ever is Hoop Dreams. Like the Blind Side, but without Sandra Bullock. Also like 20x better than the Blind Side with or without Sandra Bullock. |

i'm totally in. andross, you forgot to add the fish that saved pittsburgh (starring dr. j), the sixth man (the only movie that has made me cry), and celtic pride (hilarious!).

Me and Penny didn't talk much, Andross. He was always running Lil' Penny lines with Chris Rock.
I actually spent most of my time on set with Dukie Bobby Hurley. We exchanged drunk driving stories, and then he cried when he found out I actually played more minutes for the Sacramento Kings in the 90's than he did. And then Thomas Hill cried over Bobby Hurley crying because he wanted to be the Crying Dukie.
Say what you will about Blue Chips, it was a veritable who's-who of college basketball: George Lynch, Calbert Cheney, Rex Walters, Jerry Tarkanian, them duke boys above, Rick Fox. They were all over that flick.
Of course, it was also a veritable piece of shit. So there's that... |

No, I really love Blue Chips. I also failed hard for missing Hoop Dreams. That movie is like The Wire of basketball.

This tournament is insane. Northern Iowa has a legitimate shot at the Elite 8. St. Mary's looked pretty good v. Villanova. Cornell was amazing v. Wisconsin.
The important thing is, Duke is still going strong.
Go Duke, gentlemen. Go Duke. |
