As a New Yorker, this gets me very excited: the Bedford Ave L station just got an LCD screen that shows exactly where all the cars on the line are, so you know how long you'll have to wait.

Chicago does this with the buses, only it's online. But I've never for the life of me understood why they can't do it for the trains, seems like it would be easier.

pretty cool this morning, I go out to do my laundry and see the streets are blocked off. Apparently the NYC Marathon runs right through my neighborhood down 5th Avenue. Although it took me a while to cross back the street later on when the packs arrived. It was like Frogger trying to get back home.

I watched the marathon from my corner this morning, too. It's like a block party in Brooklyn. Marathon Day is one of my favorite days in NYC.

Shall we take up bets as to how long this new map lasts before some punk smashes it? And then, how long till it gets repaired or replaced, if ever.
