I had a list of about 100 names and Prefix was the only that no one I asked seemed to hate. My girlfriend at the time came up with the name. Had to stick mag at the end because the url Prefix.com was taken.

We also said it was suppose to represent your "pre" "fix." The "fix" being music, so you'd be reading about the music before you actually got the album, etc. There was another meaning behind the name but I forget what it was.

i honestly don't remember a single name although i do think colossal was a choice.

prefix is a name i like although i'd prolly be rich like scrooge mcduck if we had prefix.com instead of prefixmag.com.
