Currently working the Skullcandy Double Agents, all black... Although I really can't afford them I want to buy the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones that Monster makes... |

I'm using the terrible apple earbuds. I used to buy Shure and V-Moda ones but they were pricey and always broke.
For headphones I have Sony MDR-v500DJs, but I haven't used them in years.
The Dr. Dre headphones look amazing and I imagine sound great. |

I got an old pair of Sony's... dont even know the model I covered em up with skate stickers.
I was just getting the urge to buy some noise cancelling headphones, but Im having a hard time justifying the $200+ pricetag. |

Do you have these bad boys?
The MDR-V300, I had em for like 2 years before the hinge cracked like a year ago, longer than any pair had lasted me before, and I snowboarded all over the place wearing them... sound was decent, but I'm sure nothing compared to those Dre phones, also they're nowhere near as sexy looking

I have cheap $20 Sony earbuds, and they're ok. I had Shure and the connection broke somewhere, in both ears too! Wack. |

Now that I think of it, why don't they have headphones where the wire just plugs into the headphones.
That way you could change the length, or replace if the connection goes bad? |

Don't shell out for active noise cancelling cans, just get some in-ear canalphones. Passive noise cancelling works pretty well and you can then use that money to get better sound. If you don't like canalphones, try out some good closed-deck circumaurals like the Beyerdynamic DT-770.
I have some Sennheiser HD-650s that are pretty good for quiet environments. Not a lot of bass, but great definition and, importantly, comfortable enough to wear all day at work. They're open circumaurals, so I can still talk to co-workers without having to take them off or stop my music. Win!
I'm still looking for a good set of portables without breaking the bank. Right now I'm using some bluetooth Sony canalphones with my phone, but the sound quality is very mediocre. Very convenient though. |

OH, and the Beats by Dre are very good, but I hear they go through batteries fast and may have some build quality issues. Buy rechargeables and keep the receipt. :)

The batteries on the BBD is true, and the construction is not top notch...also, the cord is detachable and kind of wears quickly. I only use when I'm going on long bus/train rides really, and use these Koss headphones I got for $10 on amazon.com everyday.
I will say though, the sound quality is unmatched on the BBD. |
