Hey, PBR on tap is surprisingly tasty. But perhaps I'm saying that because I had just had my mind blown by the Butthole Surfers the only time I drank PBR draft.

PBR on tap? Elitist. I only drink it cans because then you get that great taste of cheap ass aluminum they use to can it.

Word of advice: Never drink Newcastle from a can, unless you like the taste of moss.

Nah, Newcastle in a tall bottle is how I roll. The cans are absurdly expensive (like 3 bones a can). But good to know.

Im going through a Brooklyn Lager phase right now. That shit is delicious. But theres only like 3 bars in Toronto that serve it (that I know of).
If your talking canned beer I'll go Boddington's Ale.
If your talking cheap American Canned brews then Miller High life: The champagne of beers.
We need a beer thread. |

Really? I thought the biggest con about Brooklyn Lager was that it was brewed in Utica. That's closer to you guys than to us.

I haven't had a Brooklyn Ale. There's a brewery (roughly) every 30 feet in Wisconsin, so typically beers have to be from far away to get into bars.
High Life is good as long as its out of the long neck. Out of a can it tastes like urine, and out of the tap it always tastes warm even if it's cold. |

As Lewis Black said, Wisconsinites are not alcholohics, they are professionals.
On a related note, this may be the most Onion-esque New York Times headline ever:

The High Life long necks from a cooler on a summer afternoon are pretty delicious. Yeah, that's just like the commecial. So what?
And I also like the PBR, I don't what it comes in. Although the bars in Greensboro like it cheap on draft, but at the cost of serving it in rocket hot glasses fresh out of the dishwasher.
Also, in defense of Amstel. Straight Amstel, out of a giant can, is pretty delicious. If only they served it outside of, you know, Europe.
Also, anything Sierra Nevada does is pretty much gold. Especially the new Torpedo. Holy shit is that stuff good. But I only get it at family parties, when my Dad flips the booze bill. Hooray for grown-ups still sponging off the folks.

Yeah, I think someone posted that story in the forums. It really is a culture shock leaving Wisconsin. I moved to Minnesota last summer, and it's been weird seeing how Minnesotans deals with booze. In Wisconsin, liquor stores open at 9 am, close at 11, and are open 7 days a week. In Minnesota, they're open from 10 am to 8 pm, and are closed on Sunday. And gorcery stores aren't allowed to have a liquour store inside them, they have to be inaccessble from the regular store. And bars aren't the same here either--they're actually set up as entertainment zones. In Wisconsin, pretty much every bar is just a pit were you go to get fucked up, not to watch TV or eat dinner. It's also way more socially acceptable to go drinking during the week in Wisconsin than it is anywhere else I've ever gone. Beer is as much of a religion is Wisconsin as catholicism and the Green Bay Packers.

theSchoenrock is from Wisconsin and 23 but he doesn't drink. He's like an Amish or something. |

I was informed even the Packers were just a veiled excuse for drinking.
I remember a couple of years ago where they did sobriety tests of Badgers fans in Madison before entering Camp Randall. The state nearly burned down. |

They stopped doing that. I had a cousin pass out during a badger game. Not at half or anything, I'm talking during the middle of the game, he was so wasted. It was like a 1 p.m. kickoff too. theSchoenrock can verfiy this.
