One Billion Served: iPhone Apps Officially Huge...

 

iPhone and iPod touch users have now downloaded one billion apps, a threshold that cements the hugeness of it all.  "Thanks a billion," Apple cheekily posted on its site.  The accomplishment was reached after just nine months, a period that has quickly transformed the mobile landscape.  It has also jump-started similar efforts from rivals like Blackberry, though Apple is clearly leading the category.
