Just got back from seeing it.

I fucking loved it.

I really think a lot of people are  going to hate this movie, however.

I didnt read the novel, and knew very little about it.

But I really enjoyed that movie. Great story and characters, Rorschack and Manhattan mostly. I know the runtime was long, but it didnt feel like it dragged at all. 

I agree with banger though, I could see some people hating this.

Watchmen was stellar! I saw it at the local IMAX with my fiancee, and she liked it as well. It's not a perfect movie but highly, highly enjoyable. It made me want to read the graphic novel yet again, so that's a big compliment to Snyder. Like some people I had some low expectations, since I didn't really like 300. He really surprised me. I guess Snyder's now directing an animated remake of the cult film Heavy Metal and an adaptation of Vaughn Bode's post-apocalyptic comic book, Cobalt 60. Also, Jackie Earle Haley was a primo choice for Walter Kovacs/Rorschach. Looking forward to seeing him in Scorsese's Shutter Island. Oh, and Bolden! too.
