Whoa. I was just saying I didn't understand how the show could still be so popular. How many season can they be lost? A better example of my point was that show Prision Break. There's only so many seasons you can avoid being put in jail or killed if you break out of prision.

Actually, they've been found, but they have to get lost again. It's complicated. Also, I think it might have something to do with marketing. I'm a pretty dedicated Lost fan, but I had no idea that the premiere was last night until my Mom told me.

Wait? They've been found and want to get lost again? Bah.
Three shows I promised myself never to watch because I'm scared of getting sucked in... 24, Lost, The Wire
I've been very tempted to watch The Wire, but I know I shouldn't because that'll mean the loss of several weeks of my time. |

I love 24. But I admit its kind of draining and so crazily unrealistic its hard to watch sometimes.

I got into Lost pretty late, and you're right Daba, it will suck up all your time if you try it. I ended up watching an insane amount of episodes in a short space of time. I haven't watched last night's double episodes yet, but looking forward to it later tonight.

I keep getting sucked into Lost but bail repeatedly thanks to not knowing WTF was going on.
But as for the Wire, the way I got hooked was watching them through Netflix, watching six episodes every three days, and then had to go and buy them so I could watch again. That's seriously the best show ever. |

I'd say last night's premiere was better than most of the other season openers. There's a lot going on. I get the feeling that the show's winding down (which, at this point, is a good thing). It's like a Pynchon novel: tons of characters, wacky inexplicable things happening, tender moments between characters interrupted by chase scenes, the overwhelming sensation that you're on the verge of discovering some truth that glues the universe together, and knowing in the end that things wont wrap up neatly but saying eff it all anyway and enjoying the ride.
Yeah, I like the way the writers continue to write themselves into corners only to find a way out. But none of it comes close to The Wire. That really is the best show ever. |

Blazes_Boylan, the show has 2 more seasons left, they plan on wrapping it up next season ...Though I read that on wiki, so who knows.
I love Lost. I think cause I used to be a Star Trek nerd, and all the writers are Star Trek nerds so their storylines speak to me.
My sattelite was fucked last night so I didnt get to watch it (bullshit). If any other lost nerds have a link to a torrent, PM me, hook me up!

Well, this is the second-to-last season of the show and (according to the outline they made before season four) the last three seasons were only supposed to have 16 episodes each. As a result of the writers' strike, season four had only 13 or 14 episodes. So now, seasons 5 and 6 will each have something like 17 episodes.
There's still a lot of story left to tell, but it basically amounts to about 34 episodes. They've already produced something like 90 episodes, so I think at this point the show should probably be answering more questions than it's raising. From the first two episodes of this season, I feel that's sort of what they're doing (with, obviously, some baffling exceptions). |

yo, al, time to embrace the online tv movement.

I dug the premiere. Wasn't the best episode ever, but it was pretty solid and has me pretty excited for season 5. I mean any episode where Faraday makes fun of Sawyer's lack of booksmarts, and then Sawyer waants to slap a ginger as a result...pretty amazing. |

Daba, some got out but others did not (and actually are now a lot more lost than ever before… I *think*) and it's pretty brilliant and I totally encourage you to devote as much time as it takes to watching every episode, ever, in order, until you catch up. Start now!

yo, al, time to embrace the online tv movement.US television online players hate Canadians. We dont get your fancy American TV technology up here in the frigid north. I saw the repeat of the premiere this weekend though, pretty amazing indeed. Im a sucker for a good time travel plot. |
