Got this off the Mish list.
Apparently, the youth of New York City have had several encounters of this sort with the actor; he seems to just sort of show up places. On Halloween, Mr. Murray was party-hopping with the dance pop band MGMT, whose show he attended earlier that evening at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Earlier that month.... http://www.observer.com/2008/o2/sad-bill-murray-crashing-hipster-parties-what-else-is-new |

I find it hilarious that MGMT are becoming this quiet indie sensation.

I wish Bill Murray would just sort of show up at the parties I go to.

Quiet indie sensation? At lollapalooza they had a crowd that was comparable to any of the headliners. |

I read that "quiet indie sensation" thing as sarcasm, was I wrong? There's nothing quiet or indie or sensational about their rise to whatever it is they've risen to. Hahaha.

I was unaware of the extent of their success. Either way... it blows my mind.
When I saw them in 05 touring with Of Montreal, they looked like nothing more than a gag act. |

I bet that guy who questioned Murray's "life choices" felt like a real ass when he left.

I hope the guy that said that to Murray feels like an ass.

Yeah that's pretty much what I meant. What a brilliant tactical move by Murray. He def got the last laugh.
