Haven't been into horror movies for many years, but I would like to watch them again.

It's been on my list of movies to watch since I was in high school but I still haven't seen it.

Overrated as shit. I promise.
The Thing, on the otherhand, is a masterpiece of sci-fi horror. |

I watched Night of the Living Dead the other night for the first time. I know it's the first of it's kind but that thing is more funny than scary. I couldn't help but include sarcastic subtitles the entire time.

Yeah The Thing is classic. The movie that has freaked me out the most is Rosemary's Baby...the again that was over 10 years ago. |

its always the ones without special effects that resonate with the most creepiness...they can't just lean on them to create the fear....
Eraserhead is pretty bad, although it does have a couple of extremely effed up scenes that stick with you for weeks... |

Yeah that's how Rosemary's Baby was for me...so natural and real. It kicked my ass. Anyone remember Cloke and Dagger?? When I was a kid, that nice but twisted grandma with three fingers scarred the hell out of me.
The TV version of IT tore me up...until the end when it turns into *spoiler*. |

The Exorcist is the be all end all of horror films.

Nothing with as much hype as The Exorcist can really be the be all end all. Too impersonal.

I dare anyone to watch Nosferatu (the original silent version not the Werner Herzvog/Klaus Kinski remake.) in COMPLETE darkness. Best horror film. Ever.
Evil Dead, Alien and Pet Cemetary get honorable mentions. |
