Didn't think he would bail on this although he tried to postpone...

WASHINGTON - Republican John McCain is going to be at tonight's presidential debate, his campaign said Friday, even though Congress doesn't have a bailout deal in place.

Less than 10 hours before the debate was scheduled to start, the McCain campaign announced that the Arizona senator would travel to Mississippi to face off against Barack Obama. The campaign said he will fly back to Washington after the forum to continue working on the financial crisis.

Whats stupid about all this, is that my politicians are on the campaign trail as well... and all I care about is your election.

Don't feel bad Al, I didn't even know you guys were a democracy up there in Polar Bear land. I always thought a Supreme Mounty ruled Canada.

That being said, I think these debates are going to be boring. I can totally see both candidates being respectful to each other and acknowledging each other's points. I hope its a brawl.

I hope McCain calls him "son."   That should really get him going.  They've said McCain is going to be on the cooler side compared to how vicious he was in the Republican race.  I think at some point his direct nature will kick in and he'll say some classless things like he did to Romney.

Yeah we found out that the Supreme Mountie couldnt skate, so we stormed the parliment with pitchforks and torches, and threw his ass out.

But on the real, I like that we (canuckleheads) don't have a 2 party system like you guys. Its cool to see a green party rep in the debates,  and a socialist leaning party (NDP) in the house of commons. Feels like we have more choice in electing our leaders.

But still, our dramas seem so boring in comparison to what's at stake with your elections.

I hope Obama makes McCain look like a bubmling old fool.

You Canuckleheads (that's an awesome phrase btw) have a legitimate third party threat? We haven't had that since the No-Nothings in the 1800s, and they hated Catholics.

Well, I guess you could count the Populists in the 1890s, but their candidate, William Jennings Bryan, wasn't really commited to the party.

Yeah, that was  third party, but he never had an actual shot of winning. He just stole votes from Taft. But I guess that's what always happens to 3rd Party candidates here: they just take votes from whatver major party candidate they're most similar to.
