There's the "agony of defeat." And then there's this women's ice hockey score from the European Olympic pre-qualifying tournament: Slovakia 82, Bulgaria 0. That's correct: eighty-two goals for Slovakia, none for Bulgaria. The International Ice Hockey Federation said the result, from a game played Saturday at the tournament in Liepaja, Latvia, set a record score for a women's IIHF-sanctioned event. It was not the all-time record for futility, however; that is still held by Thailand, which lost 92-0 to South Korea in the 1998 Asia-Oceania U18 Championship. Slovakia, which won all four of its games at the tournament, outshot Bulgaria 139-0, scoring on 58.9 percent of their shots on goal. They averaged one goal every 44 seconds. Bulgaria trailed 7-0 after 5 minutes, 19-0 after 10 and 31-0 at the end of the first period. The drubbing capped a woeful showing for the Bulgarian women, who also lost 30-1 to Croatia and 41-0 to Italy in earlier games.

I can't even imagine how a team can score 82 goals in a game.
The most lop-sided I ever had while playing was 23-2 and that shit was boring. |

When I was in Squirts, I had to fill in for our goalie when he has sick. I got scored on 13 times and made 6 saves. They thought putting the fat kid in the net would work, but I got lit up. It was embarrassing. They almost mercy ruled us at the end of the second when it was 10-0. Then, the other team's coach institued a five-pass before a shot rule for his team, and I only faced three shots in the third. And they scored every time. I never had to play goalie again.
I can't imagine 82 though, that's ridiculous. And Al, I actually saw a fight in a girl's hockey game, but that was due to someone slashing the goalie and a bunch of the girls started pushing each other. There were like 5 ejections. |

lol.. everyone turns to that theory at least once... putting the fattest kid in net.
I heard that the bulgarian team didnt pull their goalie until the 77th goal. That kinda shit is demoralizing , Im not sure I would play hockey again after getting peppered like that. |

Yeah, I never even practiced either. I showed up to our game, and the coach was like, hey Andrew, how'd you like to help the team out tonight and play goalie?" And I looked around and realized he was choosing me because I was the fatty in the room.
Our normal goalie wasn't that much better though, I think we lost the next game by like 8, and he cried in the net. At least I never cried, I just talked to myself as I counted down the minutes till the game was over. |

I was the fatty and it worked out okay although there were a few times I got lit up.
