Yeah much better than Chelsea. I almost barfed one up when I saw Chelsea on the cover of New York mag titled "The Next Clinton."

Also, why is everyone trying so hard(trackrabbit) to convince others that they know more and that their point of view is right?  As much as everyone has been bashing Palin, her speech was heralded as the "greatest" of the convention by the New York Times. Then again, that may be simply because McCain's was that bad.  I actually like that McCain is seeking to tear down the present Republican establishment. It won't make me vote for him but it's good for American politics as a whole. And I agree with trackrabbit that Obama's lack of experience doesn't worry me.  Experience doesn't always = compentence(Whitehouse).  In the end, either candidate would be for the better.

I did interject opinion here and there but my posts were largely facts, not me pushing my view. FactCheck.org and Politifact.com hold all politicians(Dems included) accountable for the things they say, by investigating and back up with credible sources while keeping personal opinion out. What I am saying is don't vote for a politician because of a pre-written monologue, especially when the errors are so blatant. I guess what it comes down to is do you like a speech because it's persuasive or do you like it because it's truthful?

I do get caught up a lot on this stuff but that's because I feel people(not you guys, just in general) are mislead all the time and no  one cares, so I get tempted to try to clear the air. Everyone on this board is absolutely more intelligent, and more importantly, analytical (probably because we're music nerds) than your average crop of people. Therefore I always thought we can discuss these subjects from a largely objective view. The fatal flaw is that political conventions are far from objective.

In any case I apologize if I came off as pushy, but I dunno, do you think we should give politics a rest on prefix?

She should have used some correlation between "hockey" moms and soccer moms. Hockey mom is cute but it's not relatable. I wonder if Hillary is cheering for Palin...and McCain, so she can run in 2012.

Trackrabbit, I like the fact that people are voicing opinions and that people seem to have singular, diferentiating takes.

This is the non-music aspect of the site. Politics is politics. Let the discussion continue....

yes, trackrabbit, i appreciate the points and facts brought to the discussion via your posts. it may seem heated every now and then, but it's all definitely good stuff. as long as no one takes anything personal, i think we can all learn something from these discussions.

thanks for those two sites too. hadn't been to them before, but i'll be checking them frequently between now and november!
