Now now, calm down people. We all know that all political parties are a bunch of tools so let's just end the name calling :)

Ouch things are gettin nasty up in here.

I at least respect Chris for voicing his repube opinions on such a Democrat heavy board.

Ive never actually talked to a republican voter before... Im just curious to know why you would personally vote for McCain/Palin?

my mind's not made up yet.  but if the election were held right now it would just boil down to experience.

The point she made about Obama writing two memoirs but not a single law or reform, not even in the state senate, is a great point... I have to admit that I could have voted either way up until last night, but Palin's speech caused me to take a few steps to the right.

Obama is a great public speaker. One of the best I've ever heard. He has great and intelligent ideas,  and I wouldn't be upset if he wins the election... But I personally don't see any reassurance or proof that he can actually accomplish what he promises. McCain and Palin, while they are "dirty republicans," at least have a strong track record of accomplishing what they have set out to achieve.

The question now is, are they setting out to achieve whats good for the country or good for an elite handful? Just because they may have a record of achievement, if all thier benchmarks are in the wrong places shouldn't that be taken into consideration?

As for her speech... Victory is in sight? Really? How many years ago did Bush declare mission accomplished?  And her tirade about reforming Big Oil in Alaska... Im pretty sure the applause was for the cameras, as Big Oil and the Republican party go hand in hand.

Ive never taken so much interest in the American presidential elections, as I have with this one.

I only wish I could cast a vote myself.

Those are definitely some good questions, and I agree that they should be taken into consideration... Whether their benchmarks are in the right or wrong places comes down to personal opinion, though. Again, I can totally understand a person voting for either side in this election. The truth of the matter is that it is nearly impossible to make changes that please everybody. A popular politician, law, or reform doesn't necessarily mean it is the right one. In the same way, an unpopular politician, law, or reform doesn't mean it's the wrong one. No matter who ends up in office, someone is going to be upset about it. But I believe changes for the good will be made in either case...

And she did reform Big Oil in Alaska. One of the points she is trying to make, from what I have gathered, is that she plans on fighting oil companies, even though she is a Republican, because it's the right thing to do. And with the changes she made in Alaska's government, including getting rid of many of her own party's people, she has walk to back up her talk.

No expert here. This is just where I'm at right now.

That speech was filled with so many holes and so much stuff that they could easily be called out on... If I had any motivation I would go through it and point them all out but my god there is no way that would happen.

I'll just say that I automatically think less of anyone who views themselves as republican...
