Or as it is known in hockey terms: 3 years hard labor in the gulag.
Am I right, Canadians? Back me up.

Toronto being the gulag or florida?
If I was a pro hockey player id love to play in florida... no pressure, lots of sun, and the same paycheque as anyewhere else in the league. Most players buckle under the intese scrutiny that is Toronto hockey, theres a saying up here... "He's a superstar... until he puts on a Leaf Jersey"
Im SOOOO fuckin elated that we finally dropped that salary cap eating liability. It's good to know that we have defenseman who will protect our net and not shoot into it in overtime. Shit I would have traded Mc Cabe for a bag of pucks.
All that said the Leafs are still gonna be shit for another 2-3 years at least. |

Yeah I'm a big time Rangers fan, since I was about 5? haha. Used to play in some leagues in high school.
The leafs got Ryan Hollweg, good luck with that and him costing the Leafs game with boneheaded penalties. |

Go Red Wings.
I agree with Al, playing in Florida would be awesome. You know you're never making the playoffs, and no one down there cares about the team, so the pressure is next to zero. You could just play hockey, no questions asked. I think the only other team like that is the LA Kings. |

We got Mike Van Ryn for McCabe (and a draft pick). Van Ryn is solid, not a game breaker but hes responsible in his own end. Thats really enough for me, just to get rid of that salary cap eater is sweet news.
Didnt the rangers pick up Redden? Theres an overrated d-man right there. Underacheiver on offense and soft on defence.
I also heard Jagr is playing in the Russian superleague now?? Thats a shame, I know he was getting old but hes still an offensive force. |

@AL: Yeah I'm skeptical of the Rangers team this year. They paid too much for most of their players, including Redden. But I''m prob. gonna regret saying this, but think NYR are better defensively than last year.
Yeah, Jagr took the money from Russia (Omsk) when the Rangers didn't want him back. He was great in the playoffs but I was sick of seeing him glide around half the year. |

I hate on most NHL teams other than the leafers... but I dont mind the Rangers. Except for Avery, I'd like to watch that guy die a prolonged painful death... on pay per view.. in imax. |

I dont mind the Leafs either. It's the Devils, Islander and Flyers that I hate haha. I guess the Pens can be added to that list now because of Cindy Crybaby Diver. Man I can't stand him.
Avery was hilarious to me, and he could actually play but I'm sure i'll hate him when the Rangers play him against Dallas now. |

It's kind of ridiculous that the Leafs, who are clearly in rebuild mode, gave up a draft pick just to get rid of McCabe, but Florida had Fletcher by the balls I guess, since it's the only team McCable agreed to go to. Van Ryn is a question mark, because of the wrist problems, but overall, the leafs have done a good job in getting rid of the culture of losing on that team this summer.
