De La Hoya seems to big to fight Pacquaiao, but I'm still very excited to see this fight happen.

supposedly they're gonna fight at 147.
Pacquiao hasn't had trouble moving up before, but I don't know if De La Hoya can drop the weight and keep his strength up. Should be an entertaining fight, but I see Pacquiao overwhelming him in the end. |

I forgot you were into boxing Justin. Good point about them at 147 lbs. but even though it's at a lower weight than De La Hoya's usual doesn't he just add back what he can right before the fight? Maybe that's an MMA thing and not boxing though.
Gleason's Gym is a five minute walk from where I live and I've considered taking lessons. Not ready for the commitment right now though.

yeah, it's the same idea. De La Hoya will probably put 10 pounds back on between the weigh in and the fight. The thing is, he'll probably have to starve himself to get down to that weight, especially at his age, and he's gonna lose muscle along the way. You can't gain that back overnight. Plus, fluctuating your weight like that over such a short time is really hard on your body and takes a lot out of you.
I don't know if we ever spoke about boxing before. I grew up around it. My father and my uncle were both amateur boxers, my uncle works as a trainer now in Vancouver. |
