Jon Fitch never gave in during his 25-minute battle with UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, so Fitch wasn't about to shirk any of his fight-night responsibilities. In the opening minutes of the post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White stated there's no way that Fitch would be attending. They were sending Fitch to the hospital. Fifteen minutes later, Fitch, looking like he'd been run over by a truck, strolled into the presser.

"They're not taking me to the hospital," said Fitch. "It's just a couple cuts."
