iPhone NetShare download conspiracy (AT&T wackness?)

So there's this iPhone application called NetShare that lets you tether you phone to your computer (for $9.99). You can basically have wireless anywhere on your laptop, through your iPhone "unlimited" data plan.
It was all over the news recently because shortly after appearing in the iPhone application store, it was removed. I was bummed since I wanted to tether without jailbreaking my phone. THEN luckily the app popped up again for a bit and I grabbed it. Now the application is gone again! It works great, it's reasonably fast!
I guess the problem is that AT&T usually charges a fee ($30 month??) for you to tether your phone to your computer, and that's on top of your existing data plan. AT&T must have bitched to Apple and made them remove the app? I would love to know what really happened, anyone have any ideas? Are the AT&T police going to come after me now for the screwup? All I know is I better not lose my newly found tether capability!! |
