Apple to release Macbook under $1,000?

This would be pretty cool. Another step towards possible Mac domination??? Investment bank Piper Jaffray said Tuesday it believes Apple is readying new iPod and notebook products that will apply downward pressure to profit margins because they'll be priced more affordably, such as 13-inch MacBook that will fetch less than $1000.

They're cutrrently giving away a free iPod Touch to students who buy MacBooks. Which seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Mine was too... pretty reliable.
I feel like I kinda outgrew it though. Looking forward to the new lineup but Im afraid I won't be able to wait. |

Yeah I got hosed on the iPod touch deal. I bought a new macbook in April before I graduated, and then they announced the ipod giveaway. But I did get 10 percent off for their student discount.

You didn't really get hosed. They do it pretty much the same time every year.
