New York Magazine’s David Edelstein calls The Dark Knight “a morbid affair”, claiming that “It could only be darker if Batman died. (He does die a little, on the inside.)” And he is right, The Dark Knight is not Adam West’s Batman, it’s not Tim Burton’s Batman, it’s not even Frank Miller’s Batman. Edelstein comments that when Burton’s Batman came out critics complained that the film was too violent for kids. “Wait’ll they get a load of this,” he says. And again, he’s right. This is the Empire Strikes Back of comic book movies. Harvey Dent will lose half his face, and it doesn’t look pretty.

Actually The New Yorker got a negative one in first.  Seems like New York publications don't support their own -unless it's called 'Gossip Girl.'  Of course, this guy liked Hancock but didn't like Iron Man...

Anyone have tickets to Dark Knight?

I have the feeling I'm gonna miss the boat on seeing this at the theater. 

the Imax showings on the first two days at Lincoln Sq. have been sold out for a month...some almost 2 months!

I'm so done with superhero movies.

This movie is going ot kick ass.

Since X-Men is done, Batman is one of the only superhero series that does anything for me.

Yeah I liked it...mostly because of Downey Jr.  If it were another actor, I'm not sure I would have as much.  The ending wasn't great but Downey as Tony Stark was perfect.  And for the first time in a long time, I thought Gwenyth Paltrow was  sexy.

The only reason I have any intention of seeing this is because it was Ledger's last film.  I don't really do super hero movies.

I think people are mad because rotten tomatoes gave it a splat.  The movie was actually a 'critic's pick' by NYmag and wasn't that negative of a review. Same with the one from the New Yorker. Apparently, they had it as fresh at first and then changed it to a splat. Those kids over at RT are pretty sensitive about their superhero movies.
