Dog meat off the menu during Beijing Olympics

Dog meat has been struck from the menus of officially designated Olympic restaurants, and Beijing tourism officials are telling other outlets to discourage consumers from ordering dishes made from dogs, the official Xinhua News Agency reported Friday.

Yes, it is.  When you teach a dog to beg or roll over, you give it a treat.  When you "teach" a dog to fight, you beat it and starve it for months, then unleash it on another dog who's received the same treatment.  It's perverted.  I have no problem passing this judgment because there are no other sides to this story (do some research into the topic, for Christ’s sake... I have).  Their perspective is sick pleasure (like child rapists) and money.  Of course dogs won't create forward scientific thinking, but you would think we would be able to rise above such guttural atrocities since we are obviously capable of such intelligence.  Dogs are not simply here for our entertainment; they're here because they want to live full, happy lives just like us and every other earthling.  They do tricks to make us happy, which makes them happy, and for food.  Why do you think entertainment somehow justifies torture?

The ony beef I have with the whole thing is tbat Vick tried to make it seem like this [dog fighting] was a 'cultural thing' and that black people all over the country engaged in the same kind of illegal activity...

I thought Vick tried making it more of a poor southern black thing but honestly I'm not sure. If he threw all black people under the bus that would be effed. He should've just said it was a poor country thing which I think might be true.

The 'poor, country thing' I can deal with, but I think that there is a fine line between 'love and race' and he crossed it with his comment on national television...
