Nice cover. But I wish they'd leav Ab-Liva and Sandman to their own devices. I like Clipse better when it's just Pusha and Mal.

looks like it's straight from the 80s cocaine era.
it reminds me of when i was a kid and scared to convince my mom into buying me gangsta rap records.
my fondest memory was getting King Tee Act a Fool..

When I was 14 I tried to convince my mom to buy me Ice Cube's "KIll At Will" at the mall. She saw the explicit sticker and asked me what bad words were on the tape. I said only damn and hell. She did not get it for me.
I went back to the mall the next day and had a stranger buy it for me.
A few months later she heard me listening to NWA 'Fuck The Police'' and took it from me. I found it almost a year later in my dads porno stash.
Oh, what a glorious day that was.
I've said too much. Blushes |

jesus, your mother was still going puritan on you at age 14? I think I owned every Death Row release by the time I was 12.

The King Tee cover is bomb... balanced, tells a story with a compelling image, and has enough subtlety to keep a sense of gangster class (if there is such a thing). The Re-Up gang cover looks like a mess of crap that they threw together, in hopes of taking away from otherwise poor photography.
The two shouldnt be compared.
And Banger, did you get visions of your old man tossing his tadpoles while listening to "Gangsta Gangsta"... cause that would be traumatizing. |

You're right that the King Tee album is on another level. That image doesn't leave your mind.
I guess what I thought was a purposely cheap looking cover you guys are saying was not meant to look crappy. |

It was just a small stash of old Penthouse mags, but he did have a couple of paperback books about spanking...I also found his paddle.
A few years ago I confronted my mom about it. Her response was "Your father..."

And Omni there was no way she was going to buy a gangsta record for me.

I always though Banger would be like one of those troubled teens on talk shows like Maury Povich. Turns out he was scared of mommy. hahah

Nah, my mom is actually very cool, laid back. She just didn't think I needed a own a rap record. |
