i do banger. super old...but seeing as youre super old and were probably listening to smashmouth this time last year, i'll grant you a late pass.

also, this moscow olympics is great. i've heard a couple of these tracks before.

unrelated, but im watching the track and field trials right now, and i think im in love with alyson felix. it's not even like shes "cute for a world class track athlete." shes just cute, period. [/swoon]

gotta throw my 2 cents in.

Banger if you like the Geist album check out Metro Area. Geist project from 2002 instrumental house/disco, good stuff.

Also, I still love the Muscles album "Guns Babes Lemonade". Poppy indie/electronic with silly, silly vocals/lyrics.

Also Boat Club, Swedish krautrock/sunny indie pop, just one notch below Studio.

Also, Superpitcher "here comes love" is my favorite indie/electronic/techno album ever.

Love the Lindstrom album but god is it long.

Walkmen "You & Me", I love it. Never a huge fan of this band but I played this over and over all weekend and enjoyed it more each time.

The National's Aligator is the real masterpiece...though I think Boxer is great too.  Man they increased their fanbase 20x with the last record though.  Insound had Aligator as their #1 of 2005....and they had it right. But it's true that indie rock is having an off-year so far...only 4 or 5 great albums.

Cut Copy has been around 4 years and still isn't forgotten. "Saturdays" baby. I'm not sayin...I'm just sayin.

I think "Boxer" was the most underrated record of last year, imo.

Batt Berniger's vocals are a half step away from sounding like this guy, however...

I'm not talking about Cut Copy being forgotten as a band, I'm talking more about the album itself. I doubt its anything that will resonate on a large scale in 5 years. But even then, Cut Copy is pretty niche.

Omni's is so right about Cut Copy. Definitely didn't deserve the 9.0 that we gave it. Only 5-10 albums a year are 9 worthy. Cut Copy was a fun record for about a month but there is nothing about it that will resonate down the road. It doesn't exactly break any ground.

Even saying that, I still liked the record and I look forward to seeing them live.

The new Lindstrom is pleasant but overall a dissapointment.

Cut Copy deifnitely isn't a 9 but it's around an 8-8.5  "So Haunted" is so so good.
