Im just gonna go ahead and be the devils advocate here. Its not that bad...its a party record, that will get the girls (and boys) to shake their asses on stage. Trying to take it for anything other than that is being a tad pretentious. |

Agreed, Al.
I think it's a great party record. |

i mean, yeah, listening to this stuff in a live setting is a whole different story. but even then, im kinda tired of this sound in the club.

It's not bad by any means, some mashups are damn near genius. I'd just rather he cut a deal and get rights to the songs so he doesn't need to follow the 30 second fair use policy. Most dance music is built on repition, like Justice and Daft for example, Girl Talk by his very nature defies this. |

still bites for me. there's so much room for error with mashups i think. artists can get away with more. for me, more is less with this record.

Stupid question here, but...
How does he get samples separated from the rest of the music? |

Thanks Al...
seriously though... what software separates parts of songs from each other so flawlessly? |

I have no idea what he (or anyone else that makes mashups) use to make that happen either.

The only thing I can think of would be getting masters from the record labels, but that seems very unlikely.
