"But yeah, this is basically music for people with such severe ADD that they get bored listening to thirty-second song-samples on iTunes."

i feel the same way about this new girl talk as i do night ripper. -- it's amusing for about 20 minutes until you get tired of the obviousness of it all.

It's something I'll get sick of fast, but there are some really cool parts throughout the record. I wasn't even planning on listening to it. I'm kinda sick of mashups. |

I never got into the first one he put out. I was thinking that I'd be more into this one, but by the end of the album I had a headache. I think his dj sets are more fun. |

I don't know. I can't stand most pop music, so Girl Talk appeals to me if only to give me broken up 20 second samples of otherwise vapid and trite mainstream wank. Quite frankly, I'm amazing he's popular, but I'm very glad he is. Glitch rules!

Yeah, the majority of the pop/club rap played throughout the record I really, really fucking hate. However, hearing shitty club rhymes over Rod Stewart's 'Young Turks' fucking rules.
The same goes for the first time I heard Aguilera's "Genie In A Bottle" lyrics over The Strokes. That is one great mashup. |

i heard genie on the bottle on the radio like 4 or 5 months ago, and it dawned on me that song had some production that was ahead of its time.

I really like the first 1:59 of the album and then it seems to drop.
3:41 of Still Here is pretty sweet too. |

I checked out "Unstoppable" the other day. Holy crappers, that record is annoying.
I did get a chuckle out of the Price Is Right theme song that he manipulated the shit out of. |

I just hope his rise will help shed light on people like Venetian Snares, Mochipet, and edIT, who make their glitch less obvious and often from scratch.

The records like a soccer match to me. 90 minutes of back and forth for 30 seconds of enjoyment when something exciting actually happens. I just can't take it, at least not on a regular basis unless i'm seeing it live.
