Damn. I don't associate golf with season ending injuries like this and especially not with Tiger Woods.

Details are sketchy at this writing, but it looks like Tiger Woods is out for the entirety of the 2008 season after committing to knee surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left knee.

 

Truly a shame for the game of golf; tournament directors across the country are weeping into their morning coffee right now. After this weekend's dramatic Open win, Tiger's popularity is as high as it's ever been, and it's too bad he won't be able to carry that forward.

I don't think there are many 'athletes' that I hate as much as Tiger Woods.

Why do you hate the minorities so much mike?

Though I'm guessing that was a good natured jab, I'll respond anyways:

 

I don't really view him as a minority. In my eyes, being an asshole transcends all race/culture. Though he is not the only one in golf that is a self-absorbed ass (not even close!) he represents all that I deem wrong with golf. 

 

Every time I see some golfer whining because someone is clicking a camera, I want to kill someone.  How would these guys react if they played a real sport? You can't just go bully a fan in the NBA, or Football, etc. Stop being a pussy and play the damn game.

while i dont think tennis needs to be a silent sport, i see why golf does. not only do you need to worry about making solid contact with a small object, you also need to place it in particular spots.

 

that said, i respect anyone that can take out the best pga golfers with a bad knee and stress fractures in his leg.

But how is that any different from hitting a three with someone in your face? I would argue that its not that different at all... they're just being asses 

When a guy accomplishes what woods has I think hes earned the right to be a bit of an a-hole from time to time. Kobe fits the same bill.

 

I mean people act like asses all the time and its totally undeserved... Im a perfect example of this.
