Bad news for Yankees fans everywhere. Chien-Ming Wang partially tore a tendon and sprained a ligament in his foot, and will be out, at minimum, until September.

Now the Yankees have a crisis in their rotation, after tests on Monday revealed that the ace right-hander Chien-Ming Wang would miss at least 10 weeks because of a sprained Lisfranc ligament and a torn tendon in his right foot. The severity of the injury creates an obvious need for a starter, but Cashman said he would follow his own example and not rush into a deal.

Of course, there is the requisite Hank Steinbrenner rant, considering Wang got the injury running the bases in interleague play in Houston:

"My only message is simple: The National League needs to join the 21st century," Steinbrenner said. "They need to grow up and join the 21st century. I've got my pitchers running the bases, and one of them gets hurt. He's going to be out. I don't like that, and it's about time they address it. That was a rule from the 1800s."
