Hrm. I don't remember girls that were really into video games growing up.  And not only is this girl into games, she's into RPGs, the nerdiest type of games. Times change...

Do Playboy models love video games? On a first meeting with Jo Garcia, it'd be easy to levy skepticism. She's Playboy's "Cyber Girl Of The Year," beating out 52 weeks of rival models in an online-only competition. It just happens, Garcia said, that she's "really big into games."

"People don't understand that that the whole gaming world is not just for geeks, and assume that every person who plays video games is a geek that wears glasses," Garcia said. "It's a misnomer that needs to be put to rest."

Garcia told us she plays PC games and console titles, and owns both a Nintendo DS and a PSP. "It's something that I carry with me everywhere, like some people carry their iPods. It's the norm to me. I've had people send me messages like, 'oh you play video games?' And I'm like, 'why are you so surprised?"

"If I could get a job... being a game tester, I would do that all day long."

Her favorite games? "I love RPGs that tell stories," she said, listing the Final Fantasy series, Radiata Stories and the Xenosaga trilogy among her favorites.

"I like those games because they have a lot of sidequests," Garcia said. "You can build up your character doing small things. I'm 100 hours into FFXII and I'm not even done with the game yet. I'm doing all the hunts and the sidequests - I'm probably a third into the game and my guys are at level 60. I hold my characters high so when I go through the game it's a lot easier."

I used to work with a guy who met his girlfreind through Final Fantasy online... he was the leader of his guild, I guess she was attracted to his 'powers'. Anyway when I finally saw a picture of her... she was totally BUNK but he was happy so it was cool I guess.

 

 

 

 

Not saying there aren't any hot girls who dig video games, but in my experience they're usually girls who are into the geek culture just to grab attention. Until I play a round of Halo with Garcia, I will reserve judgement.

i just found out that my girlfriend loves videogames. I'm pretty sure she spent 4 hours playing MarioKart on Wii last night while I was out doing laundry.

Dude it takes you 4 hours to do laundry?

My girlfriend reads Gizmodo daily, writes CNet reviews for her phones/cameras, and can beat me in Tetris DS.  She's geek.0

I agree with TrackRabbit on this one. Generally, the hot girls that claim to be hardcore gamers usually seem to do so to gain attention/publicity.

Part of me is skeptical simply because a girl like Garcia digging video games seems too good to be true.
 I mean, it's hard enough finding a hot girl who loves to cook.

Wow I realize how sexist my last comment looks, but really it only speaks to my severe lack of culinary ability, nothing more.
