I know we've done "Best Concert" and "First Concert" discussions, but have we ever done the "Band You've Seen The Most?" What got me thinking about it was the announcement that the Black Keys have a new album out, and I've seen them a shit-load.
Once in Milwaukee right after Magic Potion came out, and they played for like two hours. Once in Chicago at Lollapalooza. Once in Minneapolis at First Ave right after Attack & Release came out (and Jay Reatard opened). Once in Madison at the So. Co Music Experience.
Then I saw Dan Auerbach's solo tour at First Ave. in Minneapolis. And I heard about 10 minutes of Patrick Carney's Drummer concert here in Madison.
So like, five times for the Black Keys.
Eventhough I hate them (at least now), I've seen Kings of Leon three times.
Once before their third album came out in Milwaukee. Once in Milwaukee at the Rave. And at Lollapalooza.
I've also seen TV on the Radio three times: At Lollapalooza In Madison In Minneapolis
Do we have any obsessive band followers in our midst? Banger, have you seen Phish 18 times? |

I've seen the Wu as a group 3 times, and individual members here and there.
I've also seen Feist 3 times and Bloc Party 3 times. |

I've only seen GZA and Ghostface. I could have seen a bunch of the Killa Beez once (there was a show with like 8 of them in Minneapolis), but I passed since all of them were worse than Cappadonna.
Did you see Bloc Party in the Silent Alarm era? |

I've seen ted leo 8 times now, and I have to admit that I've seen Harry & the Potters maybe 6 times. They put on a surprisingly great show? After that its Final Fantasy, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, (and going to be Man Man on Thursday) 4 times. |

Eight times for Ted Leo? Holy shit. Did you pay every time, or were some of those for photo shoots? I saw him once at Lolla. |

Yeah, once right before/or as Silent Alarm came out, once during the album and once I think promoting the 2nd album...That first time mighta been the best show I've been to, definitely top 3. The venues got bigger and bigger each time (Webster Hall, Roseland Ballroom, MSG Theatre). They were playing too on my birthday a few years ago when the last album came out and I was gonna go, but thought it might've put a cramp on my birthday.
I once saw GZA and Ghost perform at Columbia's Spring festival (Bacchanal). The rumor was Ghost got like 50 Gs for a 45 minute set or so. It was free though and at Columbia basically anyone can walk through the gates. All these college kids were coming up to me and were like, "Who is this?"
But Wu have definitely been the most memorable concerts...I think I've mentioned here before, but every time I saw them I was front row and the first time was when ODB showed up after escaping from jail, and the last time I saw them was the night he died and they were all pissed because he no-showed.
Haha, going to a Killa Beez concert, that might be the worst. |

Either Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, who I've seen like five or six times, or the Roots, who I've also seen like five or six times.

I've paid for most of the shows. I've only done photos for 1 gig, and once he played a free show at nyu. I like to think I'm single-handedly keeping him in business. I'm really bummed that his karaoke show next thursday is sold out, cause that pretty much would have been the greatest thing ever.

Yeah, we considered it for like 8 minutes, then said fuck it. I have a friend who saw the Wu in the early 00s at a show where he and two of his friends were the only white people there. He said that everyone looked at them when Ghost said something like "fuck white bitches" or something. Then Ghost gave his Rolex to some dude in the crowd, and my friend was certain he saw that guy get mugged later.

A-Mart--the Roots are the best concerts. They're in my next tier of bands I've seen twice:
The Roots, Cold War Kids, Tokyo Police Club, Interpol and next month, The Antlers. |

Yeah, I pretty much make it a point to see the Roots whenever they're close enough. I also usually get in for free thanks to my OKP affiliation haha.

I don't know if I've seen any band more than 3x although SXSW can be a blur. Sonic Youth, Black Lips, Tokyo Police Club, Man Man, Islands are all 3x. Maybe I've seen Islands 4x. |

I've seen The Roots many, many times but I'd have to say #1 would be The Walkmen probably followed by TV on the Radio. Helps to live in Brooklyn...

The summer before my senior year of high school, before the Green Album, me and three of my best friends followed Weezer throughout California. Saw 'em about 7 times that summer alone. Seen Morrissey five times, and saw Guided By Voices five times. More recently, I think I've seen the re-formed Dinosaur Jr. about that many times. Seen the Vermont folk duo MV/EE seven times.
