English punk turned folk singer-songwriter Frank Turner’s roots lie in punk rock, but in 2007 he began playing solo shows which were influenced heavily by his love of country, rock, punk and folk.  He’s put out an EP and two full-length albums including 2008’s critically praised album Love Ire and Song (Epitaph will re-issue this album in July).  Turner’s heartfelt vocals and relevant lyrics boil over with fiery passion as he tackles themes of love and life with the honesty and poetry inherited from folk forbearers like Billy Bragg and Bob Dylan and all the angst of a kid reared on punk.  And his career is only starting as Poetry of the Deed (new album out in Sept) promises to be his best work yet.  Turner is will be touring with The Gaslight Anthem this fall.
