It's time for me to start the thread that only interests me. Party week in Toronto starts tonight and I'll be dodging work requests for the remainder of the week.
I wanted to catch Years's set but lots of peeps are telling me to hit up Patrick Wolf. Should I bother? |

I'm so bitter I can't go... I saw Phoenix on Monday which was good, but the lineup for NXNE has some sickness to it.. THe Courthouse shows tonight and tomorrow especially would've been siiick, but alas I cannot make it..

Dude... they stopped letting people with regular wristbands into the Courthouse at 8, I was pissed. Then Mod club shut their doors to red wristers as well. I ended up bouncing around from Lee's palace to Supermarket caught a bunch of shitty acts.
I went back to the courhouse at around 11.30 to see if I could get in. Waited in line bitterly watching the industry heads come in and out... and just when I was about to give up at around 12.15 the bouncer finally let the remaining red wristers in.
The secret guest last night was Broken Social Scene! Feist and Jason Collet joined them too... It was sooo worth waiting. Ive only seen them at big fests never in a small bar like that... R.0
Black Lips tonight (free show you should check it), then Im gonna jet over to try and get into the King Kahn and Health sets at Horseshoe.

King Khan at the horseshoe would be awesome, also I didn't know the black lips show was free at Y&D square, I thought they were going to be playing a paid venue,, also they're playing with the burning brides and I didn;t mind hang love either... shit,, I write an exam I'm paying 200 for next Monday so I was going to skip the nxne festivities this year, but I don't know now...

And I saw BSS at the sound academy last year, it was amazing... as a secret guest that would've been a massively pleasant surprise,, but with apostle of hustle there it was always a possibility...

King Kahn was fuckin insanity last night. I got kicked in the face, so awesome. I didnt have much left for the HEALTH set afterwards, but they brought the noise.
GZA was also hanging around at horseshoe last night. I got to give him daps and talk to him for a bit... That kicked ass.

Matt and Kim was super fun, Mika Miko was a good time as well.
Saw, Dead Science... was not feeling that so much.
No Age was incredible though. My head is still ringing.
This band Spiral Beach opened for Matt and Kim they were pretty awesome too.

...Just got back from Cool Kids and GZA. Cool kids were alright, but the stage had some sound issues that was kind of weak.
King Kahn joined GZA on stage and played the riffs for 4th Chamber and Pro Tools. Pretty dope man.
GZA is super chill too,not big headed or anything. Hes just a regular dude.
All in all the fest was killer this year. Daba you should send your minions up here next time. |

If you let me sleep on your couch (or point me to an alley I can sleep in), I'll come up next year cuz hotels are expensive. I love Toronto. |

Jared from the Lips joined KKBBQ at that show Thursday night. I found this (sketchy) youtube video of the jam they played together 'Too Much In Love'. One of the songs from the future Lips/kkbbq collaboration; The Almighty Defenders. Im looking forward to that shit. |

I'm hefty, yeah. But you've got Tim Hortons so I should be cool. I'll seriously consider coming up next year. I got real close to going up this year with a friend of mine, but he pussed out and had to "work."
