Saw Lykke Li at Webster hall on Monday. Opener (Wildbird and Peacedrums) was interesting. Husband and wife I believe, the drummer was pretty sick, his wife was a cute with an interesting voice. She switched between banging on a tom and playing some ambient melodies.
Lykke put on a good show. She kept the energy up, and was very playful with the crowd. I took pictures at the show. I haven't shot a show in a long time, so it was kind of my first time back. Check em out if you would like:

Thanks for linking to you pics BFD.
I saw Lykke perform once last year, I thought she sounded pretty good and was real entertaining. |

I've wanted to see her about 3 times now and haven't gone yet. Heard it was a good show but someone on Brooklyn Vegan wrote that the crowd was kind of annoying. But I guess when you're in that area, you're destined to run into a bunch of NYU kids and whatnot.
Anyone going to see Cat Power at the Apollo this weekend? The country may be in a recession, but ticket prices still seem to be going higher. Like $45 face value on ticketmaster! |

I'm embarrassed to say that I paid $17 for Girl Talk ($5 going to tickemaster). My friends and I were seriously the oldest ones there. I've never felt so out of place before. Still a good time, tho. |
