Last year I had to put together a show in a tiny town in NEPA, wasn't sure who I could get to come up there, and just started emailing a few unknowns I had heard.  Brooklyn-based Laura Stevenson and the Cans responded and made her way up to the sticks to play for less than ten people but delivered like Dominos in the 80's.  She, on occasion, plays for a punk band Bomb the Music Industry and released her first official album Laura Stevenson: A Record on quoteunquoterecords.com.  She's sweet, funny, and will play for frisbees and candybars.  Check her and The Cans out at www.myspace.com/laurastevenson
