Meant to post this last week. Another music site bites the dust. I thought PTW was one of the better music review/news sites out there too...

We are gathered here to bury Paper Thin Walls, a website that was like our child: No matter how much love we gave it, we were still constantly disappointed by its performance. In two short years and one seemingly endless month, we delivered breaking news and the hottest new indie-rock bands; all of it days—sometimes hours—after you read about all this stuff on the other music websites that we’re told exist......

I thought it got bought for a large sum a while ago. Or did that fall through?

yeah they got bought out. don't think it was for too much though.

They were bought by Getty and it basically took Getty this long to realize that the site didn't have a strategy to actually make any money. Sad thing is, though, that this was one of the few sites that actually paid a solid wage for writing. I made more per Paper Thin Walls review than writing for many magazines.
