I just saw these two films while I was visiting the folks in CT this weekend. They took forever and I actually missed the finale of Heat, but they were both pretty great.

U never saw A Bronx Tale before?

A travesty remedied.

There are tons of "great" movies I've never seen. I only really got into movies when I was really young. Maybe about age 8 to 13.

 

It's on my to-do-list to watch for more movies, but I find it tough because they usually require at least 90 minutes of your undivided attention. I got to watch a bunch this weekend because I went to CT so I had time on the train and my parents don't have a net connection. The good thing about music and tv is you can do other things like work while listening/watching. I don't think it works with movies unless it's something you don't actually care to see.

 

But back to Bronx Tale, I had heard so much about it and it wasn't what I expected. I thought it'd be a lot more about the gangster life. I still enjoyed it, but I thought it'd be more like a Goodfellas type movie.

 

Heat blew me away. I wish I thought that in the theaters.

 

I'm sorta the same way, we even made a bulletin board list at work of all the "great movies" I've never seen. I just saw Goodfellas recently, but I find that a lot of these movies I atch now for the first time, I've seen or heard so many references that they don't seem as good. Like I saw how many gangster movies were done in the mold of Goodfellas, so when I watched it, I thought it seemed outdated.

 

That chick in Bronx Tale also plays DMX's girl in Belly. And C was the guy who murdered someone or something last year.

Yeah Goodfellas is my favorite of the gangsta movies but I also saw it many many years ago.

 

I knew that C was the guy who was on trial for murder. He ended up sentened to 10 years I believe for being an accomplice but was not convincted for murder
