Ayo dorks-

Anyone beside me and banger see this? It was awesome. I think I like Brad Pitt way better as an actor when he's just a character actor. The whole movie was like wish fulfillment because you got to watch nazis get brutally murdered, including with a grisly baseball bat scene and scalping. Also, I felt vaguely uncomfortable laughing as loud as I did when Ryan from the Office scalped someone.

$37.6 Million.

There seems to be a growing belief in Hollywood that Twitter (Twitter) is becoming an increasingly important component of box office success. The so-called “Twitter effect” either sees a movie’s opening weekend numbers increase or decrease on Saturday and Sunday based on the 140 character reviews coming out from early viewers on Fridays.

The Twitter effect supposedly sank Bruno’s box office numbers and last weekend, was credited with improving sales for District 9.

Now, another apparent winner: Inlgorious Bastards, which won this past weekend’s box office with $37.6 million in ticket sales. Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Biz Blog declares the movie the “Twitter Age’s first true success story.”

The reasoning?

This is the best movie I've seen this year.  Not that I've seen a lot of new releases this year; so far it has been a pretty suck of a year for good movies. But this was amazing. There was a lot of clapping in theater i was in at the end, so I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one with this opinion.

I am a huge Tarantino fan. No one writes dialog better, and he was on point. I was kind of worried about this one because the trailers focused on the violence, and made it look over the top. But true to Tarantino's style it was 90% character/plot development and 10% extreme violence. Really "The Basterds" aren't even the focus of the film.  They get little screen time.

District 9 is a good film too. But it doesn't compare to Basterds.

I loved it. I usually wait to see movies in the theater because I don't like people, but I'm very glad I went to see this one. The dialogue was great. It had hilarious moments.

I'd say go with Basterds over D-9, Dabazzzz.

Both movies are good, but QT's movies are more of an event.

I'm going to see it again next week.

I'll have the image of Eli Roth shooting his machine gun burned into my head forever.

I don't think Brad Pitt has a line in this movie that isn't completely hilarious. And yes, him speaking Italian is an even in itself.

I totally plan on seeing it again as well.
