Dirty Projectors Touring, Playing Williamsburg Waterfront

Dirty Projectors have been jamming with David Byrne, are set to perform a set with Bjork, and are releasing their new album on cassette. Clearly, they’re in for an exciting year. Bitte Orca is due out on June 9 on Domino, and just to prove how much they love old formats, the band have also issued a 12-inch single of standout track, “Stillness is the Move.”

Bass player Angel Deradoorian also a great solo record out, titled The Mind Raft, on Lovepump Unlimited Records. But she won’t have much time to promote it, as Dirty Projectors are heading off on a huge summer tour, first with TV on the Radio, then on their own. They are also one of the first bands to announce a show at the Williamsburg Waterfront in Brooklyn, which is staging free concerts over the summer in place of McCarren Pool, which is being turned back into a swimming pool.
