Being that all the second-wave emo bands have reunited (pretty much) all that’s left is for third-wave emo bands to get in on the act. The first of that group to do so is Braid, the Champaign quartet is reportedly in the studio to do a new 12-inch single, and maybe more. Polyvinyl will be releasing the single later this year, which is fitting, since Polyvinyl is the band’s long-time label, and recently reissued the band’s two first LPs. Your move, Promise Ring. Please note that I didn’t make a single reference to Montreal’s Braids, a band that I enjoy more than Braid, and who are about to be mentioned in every single story about this reunion.
