Robert Schneider fans have had a lot to smile about the past few weeks, from The Apples In Stereo mastermind's Colbert Report ditty/appearance, to announced tour dates, to the overall good-vibery anticipation of a new Apples record, New Magnetic Wonder, out on February 7 on Simian Records, the Elijah Wood-helmed subsidiary of Yep Roc.
The band's new clip for "Energy," the summer-in-winter first single off New Magnetic Wonder, continues the recent Schneider happiness train, but maybe with a bit of an asterisk. The lo-fi band performance vid was directed by Mr. Wood himself and features some very standard "music video energy shots" and some backward walking. And that's about it.
Now, those who are down with Robert Schneider clearly have their ears in the right place, but the way we see it, the jury's still out on Frodo's directing skills. Weigh in with a comment and let us know if we're just being sour on a Monday.
