Maybe it's just my condescending acceptance of American cultural imperialism, but I think there's something really sweet about a foreign band like Dungen steadfastly sticking with its native tongue. The video for "Familj" comes from Dungen's fourth release of untranslated Swedish psych rock, Tio Bitar, released in the middle of last month.
The clip, directed by experimental film-maker Jon Leone, is every bit as swirly and impressionistic as Dungen's music, and completely eschews the standard lip-synced live band shots. Too bad we don't get to see Gustav Ejstes' Weird Al fro, but the video provides a nice alternative to the iTunes visualizer if you need a nice midday trip and your acid dealer's on summer vacation.
Download the video to Dungen's "Familj" for Windows Media Player right here.
Thanks to Angryape for hipping us to it.
