Squirrel Nut Zippers to reunite?

The Squirrel Nut Zippers were the one group in the late nineties swing revival that still seemed vital after Swingers hit DVD. The group officially zipped up after the release of Bedlam Ballroom in 2000, and each member went on to pursue solo projects (most notably, the solo career of adopted member Andrew Bird). But according to drummer Chris Phillips, SNZ is strongly considering a reunion.
Said Phillips in an interview with Billboard: "We couldn't have (reunited) unless it was creatively alive. Right now we're wanting to put more attention into the band and do some shows through the summer and make sure everything's cool. Then maybe in the fall we'll talk about some recording projects we can work into." No definitive answer as to what shape the new album would take, but let's hope they turn to Gang of Four-influenced post-punk album, becuase we don't have nearly enough of that these days.
