New Year, David Bazaan schedule short tour

Is it officially a new year in every culture now? Here in L.A. we've had celebrations for Chinese New Year, Thai New Year...certainly other ones I can't recall right now. So are we all on the same page? Good. Then we can all head out and enjoy the New Year, the band centered around brothers Matt and Bubba Kadane, formerly of shoegaze pioneers Bedhead. We haven't had new material from the Brothers Kadane since 2004, although they were recently reverently covered by Band of Horses of that last O.C. mix. (You can listen to Band of Horses' take on "The End's Not Near" here.)
The New Year has announced a handful of June West Coast tour dates. They're taking along former Pedro the Lion leader David Bazan. Should make for quite the night of piercing, religiously-paranoid rock. Follow on after the jump for the details...
6/20 Los Angeles, CA - Spaceland
6/21 San Francisco, CA - Bottom of the Hill
6/22 Portland, OR - Doug Fir Lounge
6/23 Seattle, WA - Crocodile Cafe
