Given the Broken Social Scene collective's incestuous and ridiculously prolific output, it's no surprise that Broken Social Scene leader Kevin Drew is finally releasing the solo album he announced last fall. More of an eyebrow raiser is that Drew's debut, slated for a September 18th release on Arts & Crafts, will be the first installment of a new BSS-approved series called "Spirit If..." The series will include later installments from BSS alumni Brendan Canning and Justin Peroff.
So now that Broken Social Scene has become a multi-pronged musical franchise, what's next? Perhaps we can expect miniature Feist and Amy Millan bobble-head dolls to be packaged with Burger King kids' meals?
