Odd Future

OFWGKTA (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All) are those kids your mama warned you about. The Odd Future crew is a wildly talented, closely knit network of rappers, skaters, and visual artists based out of Los Angeles whose average age is around seventeen. Centering around de facto leader, Tyler, the Creator, Odd Future Wolf Gang includes members Domo Genesis, Earl Sweatshirt, Casey Veggies, Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, and more. Tyler provides all the production; his spacey, corroded synth sounds and the group’s sex and drug crazed, nihilistic lyrics are a match made in hell.

Odd Future has released three mixtapes via their blog, all free of charge, beginning with 2008’s Odd Future Tape. Tyler, the Creator released his bleak but brilliant solo debut Bastard in 2009. Tyler’s half-brother, Earl Sweatshirt, put out the patently deranged Earl the same year. Domo Genesis dropped the stunning, blunted Rolling Papers in the summer of 2010. As a group, they maintain the Odd Future website on Tumblr as well as the Golf Wang site, a lifestyle photoblog that details their daily exploits wandering the streets of Los Angeles. It looks like the skinny jean set has finally got its Wu Tang Clan.
